This six week course is suitable for those who have never done yoga before to those who have some experience. It will introduce body awareness, basic yoga poses and their components, breath work and relaxation techniques. Students will discover newly developed strength, flexibility and mind/body awareness at their own level in a relaxed, lighthearted atmosphere. This class is most appropriate for those who can easily get up and down from the floor.
$30 for full 6-week course, $25 for Members of the Center on High.

Learn how to take professional quality photos and discover your artistic “eye”.
This beginning DSLR (Digital Single LensReflex) photography course will provide with the instruction you need to understand all of the professional tools that a DSLR offers: exposure,aperture, ISO, manual focus, white balance, flash photography and shutter speed control. The important elements of photographic composition and the choice of lenses will also be discussed in addition to photo editing software, printing and file storage and transfer. The class will conclude with a photography exhibit of students’ work at The Center on High.

Instructor: Shannon Clancy; B.S. and M.S. in Deaf Education; second year PhD student at The Ohio State University studying Language, Education, and Society with a focus in Deaf Education
An Introduction to American Sign Language. Topics include: vocabulary (basic verbs and nouns including words for emotions,family members, and foods), fingerspelling (sign language alphabet), numbers, and basic conversational phrases. Both expressive (signing) and receptive (understanding a person who is signing) skills will be addressed. Three basic grammatical structures will be taught. This class is structured but informal, allowing students to learn at their own pace in a comfortable environment.
