Stonewall Columbus is deep into the process of organizing Pride 2008 which will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 with an exciting March and Festival. This year I took a big step in hiring a Pride Coordinator for the event. Jan Richards has volunteered as the Beverage Chair for Pride for almost five years. Pride is a complex event and takes a year to plan so I needed someone who was familiar enough with the process of making that day happen and Jan was my first choice. She is extraordinary. Working with over three hundred volunteers is an art and Jan does it beautifully. She has pushed Pride forward on many levels but most importantly she has made it more fun for all of us. We are still in need of volunteers for the event and if you fill out the online form at columbuspride.org, Jan will pick it up and plug you in. It is a fun day but we can’t do it without all of you!
