State Representative Dan Stewart and Equality Ohio Executive Director Sue Doerfer will be speaking to the OutLoud group this Saturday, March 13, about House Bill 176. This event will take place at the Stonewall Columbus Center on High, 1160 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43201.
Doors will open at 11 am and speakers will begin at Noon. Coffee and snacks will be served. Open to the Public.
In Ohio, it is 100% legal to be fired because you are gay. It’s also legal to be denied housing because of your sexual orientation or gender identity. State Representative Dan Stewart sponsored House Bill 176, the Equal Housing and Employment Act, which passed the House in 2009. However, the fight for protection from this discrimination is not over yet. The Bill now needs to pass in the Ohio Senate, where it is currently stalled.
This Saturday OutLoud welcomes Rep. Dan Stewart and Executive Director Sue Doerfer as they speak about what the bill really means, where it now stands and what each of us can do to help make HB 176 an Ohio law.
